News from the Nursery

Nursery completed and occupied thanks to a generous gift from Cindy and Ken Grieshaber of Bethlehem Pa.
Thank you Cindy and Ken for your wonderful gift.
The nursery has two large bedrooms, a Play room and a Utility bath room for bathing and changing babies and doing laundry.
There is also a yard for the babies to play in. The fence is yet to come.
Our mamas are very happy.  The babies are all toddlers except Hillie and they love the freedom they have and we love the protection it provides.

Hillie has a Moto Car.  How much he has grown while I was away. He loves being independent but has to work hard to make his moto move.  The toddlers help him with that.
We can watch him grow because his feet do not reach the floor yet.
Soon, I am sure. I will keep you posted.

Urukundo steps out in Mission

IMG_1722
This month we welcomed Suzanne Evans to Urukundo Village. This woman from New York in the US had a vision and she came to us thanks to friends who supported her in that vision. Her purpose was to build a well that would benefit many. She asked us if it could be done, and our response was "with God in charge everything is possible". She had faith and now a community of over a thousand people have a source of water that will see them through the wet season and will be there even in the dry season.
the well
Praise a loving God and a woman with a vision. Suzanne was present to start construction of the well and then watched its development and completion. In less than a month, the life-giving water supply was built and in use. Suzanne will be at the dedication of the well on June 2nd before she returns to the US on the 3rd of June. We are blessed.
Suzanne and the well
Inyanza community a village about an hours drive from Urukundo Village is blessed because one woman cared and took action. Suzanne celebrated her 70th birthday with the May birthday children at Urukundo Home for Children. What a precious gift she gave to others in this her special birthday month.

With the completion of the well at Inyanza the next step to be considered is a similar well at Urukundo. We know now it is possible. It would benefit not only our village, but the whole community of over 2000 people.
Pray on this please.

Hope Made Real the Umbrella Foundation for Urukundo Foundation supports individuals or groups to start small businesses in Rwanda enabling families to care for themselves.

Thanks to a small investment from Hope Made Real:
Onasmo, a former employee, now owns his own business making and selling Sumbosa - the best in town! Meat and Vegetable. We helped him get the equipment he needed.
A group of women in Gitarama needed some capital to start a sweater knitting business. We not only gave them a start but bought sweaters for our children helping them to further their business. They are doing well and about 25 families are now independent.

Our driver of 4 years, Oswald, had the opportunity to buy a small car and start a taxi business so that he could support his wife and 4 children. He has worked hard for us and saved as much as possible. Knowing his need and knowing he is a good investment Hope Made Real contributed the final amount needed to make his dream come true.
You are making a difference.

The Grand Opening of our Multi-Purpose Center

The family gathering for the official opening of the center. The building still needs face boards, gutters and some lawn in front but for our purposes, it can be used.

We gathered on the lawn with our guests singing praises to the Lord for this wonderful gift.

It seemed only appropriate that members of the team from Wesley UMC, Bloomsburg, Pa who broke ground for this building in 2008 happened to be here for this joyous occasion. "God in Charge"
