Playground

The play ground is getting used a lot.  It serves 3 groups of kids, our children, the school children and children from the community. It is such a blessing.

The kids still need a sliding board of sorts and some kind of merry-go-round.

She just wants to grow up in a safe and loving place.

That is a good idea as it is to far to swim or walk.

Kenny likes to play Memory and eat bisquits (cookies).

The kids do get two cookies each day after play and before they go to the evening meal, when we have them.

They get candy occasionally but not too often as we are protecting their teeth. Candy is given out early afternoon. Mamas do not need a sugar high close to bed time - ask me, I know!

Jacob is now cutting teeth. That's a full time job.

Working Together - Propel School

This shirt was designed by a student at Propel School in Pittsburg, Pa. There were two designs that took top place in the ART DESIGN COMPETITION, at the school. Somehow we got two of the same design!

TV Moment

VHS TAPES

I know Barney is old hat but the kids at Urukundo love the purple dinosaur. Barney is not visible in these photos, but he's marching on the TV and the kids join in. They love Barney.

New Arrival at Urukundo Home

His name is Lionel but his nick name is Kabos. The kids gave him a heartfelt welcome.

Kabos (center, blue shirt) will be 4 in August and has started preschool.

Hope House is a Fun Place

Each morning, except Sunday, Mama and the younger kids who are not in preschool gather at Hope House for two hours of fun and activities geared just for them.

It gets a bit noisy. Every thing does not run smooth. There are the normal squabbles but we share the fun and love.

It also gives the Mamas a time to catch their breath.

Baby Report

Baby Jacob at one month. He follows with his eyes and makes cooing noises.

Nope he doesn't walk or talk yet but he is special.

On January 4 a baby boy came to live at our house. We have named him Jacob. He was between 7 and 10 days old.  He was a surprise as he arrived at 11:30 at night, brought by the police.
