As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have worked with children and families for 33 years in a variety of settings. I specialized in helping children with sexual abuse issues whether the perpetrator or victim. I have a passion for world travel, mountain climbing and running marathons. In 2007 I was a US Social Work Delegate for People To People International to Rwanda, and was fortunate enough to have visited with Hope Made Real, Urukundo Village Orphange. I have been in touch with Arlene Brown since that time. I currently live on the Central Coast of California with my husband David, and our 9 dogs, 4 cats, 4 macaws, 1 pot-bellied pig, an emu and a giant tortoise. I still work in a private practice and particularly enjoy teenagers. Sometimes one or two of the animals assist in the healing process. My faith in God is an integral part of who I am, and am becoming. I am very fortunate and blessed to be able to be a part of Hope Made Real. - Mike Ricker mike [at] hopemadereal.org
