How Can I Help?

  • Become a Godmother or Godfather to one of our 50 children. $600 a year is all it costs to care for one child from birth through primary school with all expenses included.
  • Offer a $100 education scholarship for our in-house primary school students – this covers school fees and school supplies for one year only.
  • Be part of the Hope Made Real Scholarship Program and send a child from the local community to school for a year. This is a donation of only $16 a year for one child. In 2009 we offered this opportunity to 329 children – thank you.
  • Give a Urukundo Children’s Scholarship of $700 per year for one of our children as they enter Secondary School. All secondary schools in Rwanda are boarding schools, and your scholarship includes tuition, food and lodging and necessary supplies such as mattresses, bedding, toilet paper, tooth paste, soap, etc.
  • Build a cottage home for the children. Each cottage will house ten children and a house-mama or house parents to create a true loving home.
  • Help us build the Children’s Chapel that will serve as an all-purpose building and house our library, computers, space for community and religious gatherings, and more. The cost for construction is $35,000.
  • Give a real live goat or bee hives to a village family. With a one-time donation of $30 you will instantly raise the living standards for one widow and her family.
  • As our children grow into adults they will be attending University or Technical School. The cost of this Urukundo Scholarship is $3000 per year. This amount includes tuition, room and board and home maintenance.
  • Travel to and work with Mama Arlene and the children of Urukundo and the region. You stay at the guest house and eat your meals with the children. Volunteers pay their own travel as well as room and board while visiting and working with Mama Arlene. Applicants should contact Mama Arlene directly.
  • Add your prayers and best wishes to this work –and pass on the information about Hope Made Real to your friends and family.
